Tom started his coaching career in 1998 at Pike High School in Indianapolis where he helped turn around a program that had been down on its’s luck.  After 2 years, Tom moved to the college ranks to Dominican College in New York.  As the Associate Head Coach/ Recruiting Coordinator, Dominican won 3 conference championships and one regional championship.  Tom spent two seasons as pitching coach and two seasons coaching the hitters.  Two of his pitchers were taken by the St Louis Cardinals in 2002 MLB draft.  Tom has also been very successful developing catchers.  He coached catchers his whole time at Dominican having two of his catchers move on to professional baseball.

Due to family circumstances, Tom resigned from Dominican in 2005 to move to Austin, TX.  It was in Texas that he developed a love of fitness.  After being certified by the Professional Fitness Trainers Association (PFTA) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Tom went to work at 24 hour fitness in 2008 and learned a great deal there.  After 2 years at 24 hour fitness, he founded Riley Performance Training.  Tom specializes in weight loss and sport specific training as well as offering his baseball knowledge with private lessons for catchers, hitters, and pitchers.
